Jankovich hired as new Illinois State Basketball Coach

Tim JankovichTim Jankovich, a former Colorado State University assistant and current Kansas assistant coach has been hired by Illinois State University. Porter Moser was fired March 5 after his teams went 51-67 in four seasons. Tim Jankovich is 47 and comes with vast experience at Colorado State and Kansas.

    I think the hire stinks. Jankovich was unsuccessful as a head coach at North Texas State. We needed someone who can develop players at the mid majoer level or a “Big” name to recruit the chicago area and we got neither. If he could recruit like Self, and coach like Altman then maybe we would have something. Poor choice. Someone familiar withe the Valley would have been better. I will continue to follow and support the Redbirds buy Coach Jankovich will be back as an assistant at a top program within 3 years. After all, didn’t he quit at North Texas?
